The Lalani Hotel History

The Lalani Hotel story began in the early 90's when our founders traveled to the city of Bulawayo. They discovered how challenging it was to find quality and affordable accommodation.

After some contemplation, they decided to to solve this problem by converting their family home in Fortunesgate into a bed and breakfast facility. Their company was officially registered in October of 1997 and our doors were officially opened to the public. Our intention was to cater to individuals and families who were travelling to Bulawayo for business and leisure. Thus our trading name in those first few years of operation was Lalani Travellers Lodge.

At the time of our launch in 1997, we only had 4 bedrooms. We also provided our guests with meals such as lunches, breakfasts and dinners.

Our Growth...
Over the years we have been able to reinvest into the company in a number of ways. We have added 46 rooms to our initial number of rooms giving us a current total of 50 rooms. Additionally, all our rooms are en suites (they all have private bathrooms).

We also managed to build 2 conference rooms and a chapel. Hence we now host weddings, parties, conferences, workshops and even church gatherings. This growth led us to being more than just a bed and breakfast facility offering bedding and food only but to become a 3 star lodge and conference centre.

In 2016, one of our biggest dreams came true when the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority awarded us the hotel  status. We shelved the name Lalani Lodge fully embraced our new identity as Lalani Hotel and Conference Centre.
Our Future...
It is our founders hope that the Lalani Hotel History will continue even after their retirement or demise. Our vision as the Lalani family to keep on growing and for our doors to be open for many generations to come.
We hope to continue being a home away from home for all those families and individuals visiting our beautiful city of Bulawayo.
